What this site does not do

This site sets no cookies. You can confirm that in your own browser before taking our word for it.

No advertising network is loaded on any page, so nothing here follows you to another site. There is no contact form, which means there is nothing on the page quietly collecting your details while you read. We do not sell data, and there is no arrangement under which we would.

What happens when you read a page

Four things, and this is all of them.

• Cloudflare delivers the site. Every request carries your address, the page you asked for, your browser version and the time. Cloudflare uses those to route the request and to block attacks, acting on our instructions rather than for its own purposes.
• Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It sets no cookie and does not follow you between sites, so it can tell us an article was read forty times without telling us who read it. We look at it to decide what to write next.
• The server keeps an access log. It lives in the system journal on the machine itself and holds the same request data. It is readable only by whoever administers that machine, and it is not exported anywhere.
• Your browser remembers one preference. Which currency you chose to see prices in. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

What happens when you get in touch

Email reaches us at the address in the footer. Cloudflare Email Routing forwards it to our mailbox. We keep the thread, because a quotation only makes sense read against the enquiry that produced it.

The chat panel is YunaChat, which is our own product rather than a third party. If you open it and type, what you type is sent to YunaChat and stored so that somebody can answer you. Please do not put a password or a bank detail into it.

You decide whether your name ever enters this at all. Do neither of those two things and it never does.

Where it sits, and for how long

The server is in Falkenstein, Germany, rented from Hetzner. Cloudflare serves cached copies from whichever of its locations is nearest to you, so the page itself may be delivered from somewhere much closer.

Server logs roll over on size. They are not backed up and not sent on. Correspondence stays while the enquiry is live, and after that for as long as the company is required to keep its business records.

What you can ask for

Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 gives you the right to see what a company holds about you, to have it corrected, to limit what it is used for and to withdraw consent you gave earlier.

Write to the address in the footer and say which of those you want. You do not need to give a reason, and you will not be asked for one. Your request is answered within twenty-one days, and normally within the same week.

You should expect very little to come back. Unless you have written to us or used the chat, there is nothing filed under your name.

Changes to this page

This page carries the date it was last changed. A change describes what happens from that date onwards and is never applied backwards.
